| Personally, I'd be content to have a Settings option to remove all in-game popups, as well as a chat setting to block promotional messages.
Yes, it's fantastic that such-and-such just enchanted his Power Saw to +10, but I really couldn't care less when I'm in the middle of something. The "Congrats" messages in particular can be downright frustrating, especially when they occur multiple times in a row while you're in the middle of a fight (if not for the 1-9 hotkeys, I would have been unable to finish my turn in one such case because those stupid boxes kept popping up). Hooray, that guy got a costume, that's great....can I get back to my fight now?
It's also kind of annoying to get promo messages in my chat window when I'm having a decent discussion, because they have a tendency to eat up my chat window. I mean, if I want to know about the newest Item Mall thing, I can pull up the AO website in a flash. I can recall back when Power Potions became Blessing Potions, the "Power Potions are now Blessing Potions" promo message would fill my chat window every hour or so....I think after the 50th time seeing it, I've got the message. I think it'd be wise to change the chat system so that GM announcements aren't the same as those promo messages, so that we have the option to block the promo messages while still being able to see GM broadcasts.
It's just that those messages are horribly intrusive and are always interrupting me when I'm talking/fighting. If you added settings to block those two things, I'd be quite content with that alone.
