| I have this build going right now:
swordy-BT-spear
musicmain-vik-gunner
monk-arty-shaman
I do pretty good in FL but should I have SoP or Protect? I have level 11 protect right now so it wouldn't be too hard to skill decrease so don't consider that. Just tell me what's better in my case. And if you have any improvements to make to my build feel free. No this is not endgame build. I'm level 60 and yes I will be getting an exo to replace my swordy shortly. If you think I should replace something else instead tell me please. |

| In general I trust protect more than shield just because it's a guaranteed heal and defense buff and the monk doesn't really run out of Mp to worry about the wasted turns.
Edit: So my opinion is surely protect, suppose you get hit with magic in your most vulnerable moment, shield won't keep you alive that long.

| Current PvP trend is to be have a lot more physical hits than magic spike. That said, SoP is almost always better. If you don't have it, your main can be quite vulnerable to snipe due to current high bow damage. Theres also the fact that your main can frontline tank in most cases with SoP, and is a pretty good tanker to boot. Non-melee mains with protect are pretty much permanently stuck 2nd/3rd row. |

| For a Musi Main, Protect. Why? Because even with SoP, the heal is a bare minimum for a ridiculous amount of MP consumed not forgetting the defense increase is negligible.

well given what server your on ok? Don't be giving such definite answers =( There are quite a few snipe builds in MA with hwarang
that just need one turn to spike down range/staffM from full->zero (i'm talking about 2nd/last row mains), without SoP it's already gg
edit: and given that there's already a healer, protect needed even less

pics or it didnt happen, SoP only heals about 800 for the first hit (correct me if I'm wrong) and that ISN'T a lot. protect will heal your main a lot more and during the end of the match, it's going to help you way more because of timer DoT |

| GorillaMilk comes to mind for me in macedon. but easily screwed with princess. BowM+DA+prophet+hwarang. Funny how he? still *tries* (and fails) to "snipe" after princess signet. and has a SINGLE midline monk with no exo. pure left click "wins" in DG gear. If no princess, ur going to nid SoP to ensure you survive to win b4 you get left clicked to death.

For the OP, IMO i wud suggest Protect, as its gonna be more usefull for you levelling up and in most circumstances you will encounter for a long time.
Later on if you decide to change your build, you can always change, it does cost a little, but you will be able to afford it by then. |

This. Even LH doesn't attack the main until monk is silenced/down.
LH one turned my main.. me at around 80%...she sethed her pirate and stuff.. and boom.. there goes my main =( |

| LH is one of those low % ppl with godlike gear. Also tip: get 2 monks, and you will have both SoP and Protect XD
As someone said already, it depends on you will you hold main in front row or not. |
